iLearnabout Recognised Among World's Leading Innovations in Planetary Health Education
We are delighted to announce that iLearnabout has been selected as one of the world's most impactful and scalable innovations in education in the Spotlight on Planetary Health Education, an initiative led by HundrED and The Villars Institute.
Chosen as one of just 10 organisations from more than 200 submissions from 39 countries on 6 continents, this recognition highlights iLearnabout's commitment to providing high-quality environmental and climate education to young people, particularly in underserved communities.
At the prestigious Villars Symposium in Switzerland, iLearnabout's Anne Tudor joined representatives from The Villars Institute along with fellow recognised innovators to celebrate their selection as leading contributors to planetary health education.
The symposium provided a valuable opportunity to showcase iLearnabout's work and impact alongside inspiring speakers and international organisations helping young people understand and respond to environmental and climate challenges.

Through engaging workshops, presentations and discussions, participants explored new ways of equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to create a more sustainable future. The event also created opportunities to build new partnerships, exchange ideas and identify areas for collaboration that can help expand access to environmental and climate education globally.
“Around the world, there is a growing recognition that education must do more than raise awareness—it must equip future generations with the mindset and skills needed to truly thrive on our increasingly fragile planet, and recognise that the wellbeing of people and nature are inseparable. The role of planetary health education is to help young people develop the agency and capabilities to navigate this reality. Together with HundrED, we wanted to identify educational solutions that can do this,” said Emma Benameur, Director of Leadership and Learning at the Villars Institute.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Villars Institute and HundrED for hosting such an inspiring event and for recognising the importance of planetary health education.
As iLearnabout continues to grow, this recognition serves as both an endorsement of our work and a motivation to reach even more young people in Africa with engaging environmental learning experiences that inspire positive action for people and planet.
