ChildFund Launches iLearnabout Pilot Programme in Zambia Schools

ChildFund and iLearnabout have announced a new pilot programme in Zambia, with trials set to begin in schools from June following an extensive joint planning process.

For almost 90 years, ChildFund has worked with children, families and communities to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Its community-led approach to education and development makes it an ideal partner for iLearnabout’s unique e-learning environmental conservation programme.

Victor Koyi, ChildFund Zambia Country Director said: ““We are excited to begin this pilot with iLearnabout in Zambia and to see how engaging environmental education can empower young people and support communities for the future. This partnership provides an engaging way for learners to better understand environmental conservation and climate issues that directly affect their lives and communities."

The pilot will introduce iLearnabout’s interactive educational materials to schools in Zambia as part of ChildFund’s existing education initiatives. The programme also creates opportunities for future expansion across other regions in Africa through the wider ChildFund Alliance network, which operates in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Ian McFadyen, Chair of iAfrica Foundation, commented:
“This collaboration is extremely exciting. The reach that ChildFund can provide for iLearnabout’s education materials will help thousands of children gain knowledge about crucial environmental conservation issues that affect both their everyday lives and the wider global environment. We look forward to working together on this pilot and building an even stronger collaboration in the months ahead.”
