🌍 Planetary Health: Innovations in Action!

We were delighted to join fellow Villars Institute Planetary Health Education Award winners for a special session during hashtag#ClimateWeekNYC, exploring how education and innovation can help create a healthier, more sustainable future. While we couldn’t be there in person, iLearnabout joined virtually, sharing the session with educators, students, NGOs, climate activists and funders in New York. Together with Institute for Humane Education, Compass Education and LINK Education International, we shared different approaches to equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand environmental challenges and take action.For iLearnabout, it was a great opportunity to share our work bringing free, engaging environmental and conservation education to children across Africa, using digital innovation to make high-quality, locally relevant learning more accessible. There was lots of discussion, ideas and energy in the room —-and a real sense of what can happen when innovators come together and learn from each other. A big thank you to The Villars Institute, HundrEDorg and Teach For America for supporting and hosting the session, and to everyone who helped make it happen. Education has a vital role to play in planetary health - helping the next generation understand the challenges, see the possibilities and be part of the solutions.
