Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia

Kafula Milambo is the National Environmental Education Officer for the Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ). WECSZ is the programme provider of the Chongololo and Chipembele Conservation Clubs in schools across Zambia. Kafula oversees the activities of all the clubs countrywide, including conducting teacher orientation meetings, ensuring that Chongololo and Chipembele magazines and club manuals are printed and distributed to over 1,400 clubs, conducting membership outreach and recruitment of clubs and monitoring and evaluation. Kafula holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry and is currently pursuing her MBA.

WECSZ is a charitable, membership-based non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting environmental and conservation issues to all levels of the community and was founded in 1953. Its vision is to see ‘an environmentally responsible Zambia benefiting from balanced and well-maintained ecosystems’, with its mission being, ‘We champion the harmonious co-existence of humans and nature through knowledge and practical conservation of Zambia’s ecosystem’. WECSZ focus areas include, Forest and Wildlife Conservation, Policy Advocacy and Education, Waste Management, Water and Climate Change
