Dr Katherine Baxter
ANAW-USA

Dr Katherine Baxter is the Operations Manager for ANAW-USA where she oversees all aspects of the Africa Network for Animal Welfare’s US-based operations, including: advocacy, fundraising, public relations, strategic development, and campaigning. She has worked in academia, education, government, and the non-profit sector - in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and East Africa - always endeavouring to forge innovative and compassionate solutions to complex social and environmental problems. Her research, teaching, and non-profit work centers around youth, sustainable development, global education policy, and animal welfare, and she has a particular interest in harnessing the transformative potential of education to promote conservation and ecological well-being. She holds an MSc in Global Social Change and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh and is driven by a deep commitment to creating a world free of suffering for all living things. Katherine is based in Denver Colorado where she enjoys many outdoor pastimes in the nearby mountains.
