Ian McFadyen
Chair, iAfrica Foundation

Ian is an engineer, philanthropist and social entrepreneur, focused on improving the sustainable delivery of education, connectivity and power in rural and under-served areas of Africa, predominantly in Zambia, where he was raised.

Ian is an enthusiastic supporter of African education and conservation projects and divides his time between homes in the UK and Zambia. He sits on several company Boards and is a Trustee of a number of charities. When he isn’t working, Ian spends his time developing his own conservation projects in Zambia (on Lake Kariba and near Livingstone), playing golf or working on his (very basic) carpentry skills.
