New topic published, on the importance of soil

Reflecting a ‘Living Sustainably’ theme and Sustainable Development Goal 13 to limit and adapt to climate change, the topic contains three e-learning modules focusing on the crucial and often underappreciated role of soil for both people and planet. Teaching materials include: how soil is made, different types of soil, the effects of pollution and erosion as well as practical activities to improve soil locally using windbreaks, mixed planting for food, compost making and tree planting.

Commenting on iLearnabout , Dr. Margaret Otieno, National Coordinator / CEO, Wildlife Clubs of Kenya said;

‘These learning modules have been well thought out... and will capture attention throughout the lesson. The challenge packs ensure that the learners put in practice what they have learnt.’

Partners using iLearnabout in schools have requested that the next topic be on Forestry, as demand for our materials and roll out of the resources continues.

iLearnabout is an environmental conservation e-learning resource available FREE of charge to any school, club or organisation. The resources are ready to use on our Moodle site. Topics now available are: Biodiversity, Climate Change, Water and Livelihoods, Wildlife Conservation and Soil.
